Our host families are candidates who are interested in the Disciples Baseball and Softball Ministry. Our host families not only open their homes for the summer, but also form lifelong bonds with our college athletes.

Our host families are candidates who are interested in Disciple Baseball and Softball Ministry and are dedicated to making memorable and fun experiences for our interns. Disciples Host families offer safe Christian homes and treat interns as part of the family.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE
The interns will stay in your home from the first week of June to the last week of July. We are happy to work with you to arrange airport pickup.

TRANSPORTATION
Disciples Interns will be responsible for getting themselves to and from games, practices and camps. Host families should be located in the Greater Kalamazoo area. This allows interns to be close to Disciples facilities. Some interns will have their own vehicles and some will not. We will have interns carpool if possible. You are not required to provide transportation, but if you have an extra car available that you are comfortable with an intern driving, you are free to offer it.

HOUSING
Interns must be provided a private room for sleeping. If you are hosting two interns, they may share 1 room with 2 beds. If the only thing preventing you from hosting is an extra bed, please reach out and we will help you find one. Please dress the bed with clean linens and a pillow. Interns do not need a private bathroom but should have a place for their personal belongings. Interns are expected to do their own laundry throughout the summer but we ask that you allow them use of your washing machine and dryer. We also ask that you provide a light breakfast (cereal, fruit, etc.) and lunch (sandwich ingredients, etc.). Interns are expected to follow the rules of your home. There will be a housing checklist that goes over housing issues that we will ask each intern to read over and discuss with you before signing.
